Biography

Ricardo Climent, (Valencia, Spain) is a music composer based in Northern Ireland since 1997. He recently served as resident composer at the Conservatorio de las Rosas, Morelia, Mexico thanks to the a Unesco-Aschberg award and also as resident composer at the JOGV orchestra in Spain, the LEA Labs-Conservatorio of Valencia, CiberArt award, Cushendall Tower resident artist 'In You We Trust', the Elektronisches Studio - Technical University of Berlin, and more recently, resident researcher at the Kunitachi College of Music, Tokyo, sponsored by Arts Council Northern Ireland and the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese foundation.

Ricardo has recently been commissioned by The Instituto Valenciano de la Musica, Pedro Carneiro, C.A.R.A. (Celebrating Arts in Rural Areas), Grup Percussio Amores, JOGV Orchestra, Ensamble las Rosas-Mexico, Xelo Giner-Kazuhisa Ogawa, Inigo Ibaibarriaga - KLEM, Carlos Gil, Spanish Brass Luur Metals, third Practice Festival and kontakte percussion group. He lectures at the School of Music, Queens University of Belfast and he is also a researcher at SARC, the Sonic Arts Research Centre in Northern Ireland.

Ricardo has curated and diffused concerts by SARC solo events with Northern Irish composers abroad in places such as Mexico, Valencia, Vasc Country, Japan, and in 2006 in Berlin, USA and Chile.
